Luke Bird
Freelance Designer
After graduating from Edinburgh College of Art, Luke Bird worked in house at Canongate and Faber & Faber before he went freelance in 2017. He designs covers, cookbooks and limited edition book packaging for publishers from all over the world, including Penguin (on both sides of the pond), 4th Estate, Little, Brown Book Group, Granta, Faber & Faber, Vintage, Profile, Atlantic, Bloomsbury, Quadrille and Éditions Christian Bourgois, and is also a Consultant Art Director for Laurence King. He has been shortlisted for 14 ABCD Awards and for the British Book Awards Designer of the Year in 2021 and 2023.
Luke now lives and works in Newcastle. He is passionate about finding more opportunities for people from the North to get into publishing.
