“For the DPI mentorship, I was thrilled to be partnered with Holly Ovenden, whose work I have admired for a long time. Over the mentorship, I gained valuable insight from her about working in the publishing industry both as an in-house and freelance designer, I learnt about Holly’s own design journey, how she deals with difficult briefs and how to take my own designs to the next level.

Towards the end of the scheme, I was able to put into practice some of what I had learnt by being set a design task to work on. This exercise really helped me to broaden my style and pushed me out of my comfort zone. Overall, the mentorship scheme has given me a lot more confidence in my own ideas and design skills which will be a good foundation for my further career.”
